There are two basic ways to set up a static IP address on Debian 10. The simplest for desktops is through NetworkManager's graphical interface. For servers or systems without NetworkManager, you can use a configuration file too.

You are wrong.
eth0 - is not acceptable for Debian 9 and 10.

Also the CLI way described in this tutorial did not work for me - it just killed the network completely.
Made me unmount a server from the rack to attach keyboard and monitor to fix it…

Try rebooting your server after these steps. It might work!
