I use two distributions. Ubuntu Mate and Parrot (Debian based, rolling release). I have tried many on the list. As for installers Ubuntu seems to be the most easy for installation. As for running a live CD\DVD if you want to save your changes finding an OS that already has or offers “Persistence” seems the best way to go to me, though there are other methods.
