I am looking for good encryption local-only folder tool.
I took a look on VeraCrypt but… I tried to find Linux install guide, but I can’t find it.

Secondly, how really secure VC? I need to store some really important information (journalism) and in my situation it MUST be encrypted and treated as highly classified information. It is really important.

Also… I read somewhere that VC supports chipper cascading. Is it true?
I really don’t have time to try everything myself, as if I will mess something up, I will be in whole ocean of trouble.
If you can recommend anything better, or help with this one I will be very pleased 
And please, no “cloud” solutions. It is too sketchy for this exact situation. I really need local only solution. And better if it will be easy to use. I am journalist n not a geek.
Hi, if you’re using KDE Plasma desktop then you have the option of Plasma Vaults.
A vault is like ordinary directory but encrypted.
When you decrypt it the directory gets mounted to a configured mount point.
You can optionally configure the vault to disconnect from internet while the vault is open and reconnect when it gets closed, this way decrypted vault has no access to internet, this is to avoid potentially malicious program to access your vault and send it to attacker online.
You can also backup your vault and settings to external storage (in encrypted form ofc.) just in case your system crashes and you need to reinstall it, in which case all it takes is to restore the vault and open it with previous password.
