Looking for way to protect my system from password reset

Hi

There are several guides like this ones (not an ad, so copy/paste yourself):

https://linuxconfig.org/recover-reset-forgotten-linux-root-password
https://linuxmint-user-guide.readthedocs.io/en/latest/lost-password.html

And i wanna prevent this from working.

System already set up. Linux mint 21 (if it is important, i can upgrade to 22). No disk or home encryption set up. And i don’t want to reinstall system, too many programs and too many custom settings.

Threat? Protect from homemates. I know about manipulations with physical disk, but now i am exactly about preventing password reset. Not physical security

If I am understanding your question correctly, you are asking how to prevent your roommates from changing account passwords. Changing passwords is a priveledged operation so only root or sudo can do this. If you are root and the only user on your system this is straightforward: just give yourself a strong password and lock your system after use. You could also get into your BIOS settings and put an additional lock there, to prevent BIOS edits. Hope this helps.

I think this is what you are looking for:
