Before you get started, make sure that you have the latest graphics drivers for your system installed. Playing games would be kind of hard without them.

Sweet that works on opening battlenet!
Followed these exact steps to install Blizzard on my Elementary OS [Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS] system. All went well until the step where I had to run the Battle-net setup with wine. I get an error window in Wine showing that the setup program has encountered a serious problem and will now close. Any help?
Manged to install the battlenet and download Hearthstone, however the game crashes on startup 
As of November, 2018, I also had to install the winhttp wininet windows components using winetricks before the Battle net Installer would download updates. Just in case anyone else using this article runs into similar trouble. I was getting an error like: “Sorry, we couldn’t download updates,” or something similar to that when I ran the installer.
Thanks for the article! I don’t really play any of the games anymore, but I enjoy having the battle net app for keeping in touch with some of my friends whom I can’t seem to get over on discord.
