Pantheon desktop is a default desktop used by the ElementaryOS Linux system. It is hand-crafted specifically for the ElementaryOS Linux distribution and the result is extremely polished, fast performing and user friendly desktop environment.

It did not work. When I try to select the Patheon Desktop, I can hear the percussion sound and I can see the login screen again. Wayland and Gnome work. Can you help me?

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:elementary-os/os-patches
sudo apt upgrade elementary-desktop lightdm pantheon-greeter
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
reboot
login
Thank you, I was have the same proplem, it helped me.
I have the identical issue and followed your instructions as well but I am still left with Gnome and Wayland.
Any more suggestions please?
