How to setup vsftpd on Debian - LinuxConfig.org

Vsftpd is the acronym of Very Secure FTP Daemon: it is one of the most used ftp servers on Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. It is open source and released under the GPL license, and supports virtual users and SSL for data encryption. In this tutorial we will see how to install it and configure it on Linux.

Hi Egidio, I really liked this clear guide you’ve written about configuring vsftpd. I have one sugestion:
upon creating the users password file you suggest creating: /etc/virtual_users.pwd, however upon providing it in the pam config file (/etc/pam.d/vsftpd_virtual) you use a different path: /etc/vsftpd/virtual_users.pwd.
Upon exactly following your guide and suggestions the setup will therefore not work.

Hi!
Thank you for the suggestion! I fixed the article, It should be updated soon!
