I was updating my laptop from Kali 2020 to Kali 2021 and suddenly my laptop switched off,it was about 28% when it switched off and now when I switched it on no command is running even the terminal,so I don’t know what’s next, anyone who got an idea on what’s next please help

To be on the safe side, I suggest you boot the laptop from a live media (DVD or USB drive), save all your data to an external drive, and do a clean install on the laptop. It may be a hardware error, but in that case your data is saved externally.
Did you find the cause? I had a similar problem, as it turned out not enough disk space on the target machine.
To open the Linux terminal, press “CTRL + ALT + T” keys together, and execute a command by pressing the ‘ENTER’ key
