I have recently heard about linux and was suggested that I should use Ubuntu linux distribution as a begginer. Do you think that this is the linux distribution that I should install? Another question is wheter this is the best linux distribution for laptops. Can you also suggest a place for linux distribution download for me, please. Thanks for your help.

Ubuntu it the one you should be using as a beginner. You can also consider to use Mint Linux which is polished version of Ubuntu. Both distribution will work nicely on your laptop. There are however also different flavors of Ubuntu and Mint Linux in terms of desktop environment. This is something you should try and see which desktop environment you like the most. When it comes to download all you need is to simply point your browser to home page of each particular distribution and download ISO image for your platform 32 or 64 bit.
